CFES Brilliant Pathways will put on the largest mentoring event in North Country history on January 14 when hundreds of mentors will work with over 3,000 students in 13 Adirondack schools. Mentoring Madness matches mentors from local colleges and universities, hospitals, businesses and non-profits with students in grades 1-7 and high school to focus on civic engagement, college and career awareness, and leadership.

The daylong event occurs during National Mentoring Month and is part of an $11.6 million U.S. Department of Education GEAR UP grant secured by CFES Brilliant Pathways in October. The primary goal of the largest grant in the Adirondacks dedicated to college and career readiness is to improve the overall academic performance of 2,075 students in seven rural school districts to ensure that 85 percent attend an institution of higher education immediately following graduation.
