The amount of change that has occurred since March of 2020 is unprecedented in modern U.S. history. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted traditional education models, forcing K-12 and higher education leaders to rethink every aspect of educational delivery and engagement. The call to end racial injustice in America is a defining moment that is motivating individuals and organizations to rethink their existing missions to ensure that Black lives truly matter in every way.
The purpose of this session is to explore these and other current topics with a focus on how education can help level a socioeconomic playing field that remains far from equitable. Other areas of discussion include how best to support students as a CCR advisor in the post-pandemic world, how to engage students virtually, and ways that students from rural areas can revitalize their communities by moving back home to launch start-ups or work remotely for major employers.
