Value of Mentoring & the Essential Skills
CCR Advisors change lives through mentoring and developing the Essential Skills. How? In this session participants are introduced to multidimensional mentoring models and how to develop and strengthen the 6 CFES Essential Skills with young people. This session will provide participants mentoring tools and Essential Skills activities that they can use with their students.

College and Career Pathways
Workers with a college degree or micro-credential earn significantly more than those with just a high school diploma. Many current careers and jobs of the future are in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Earning a degree or certificate can be a challenging pathway for many students. This session introduces participants to high demand occupations and jobs of the future. To overcome application and financial aid barriers, this session focuses on helping advisors support students in mastering the application and financial aid process.

Closing: Bringing the Elements Together
With a foundation in place, the closing session will bring together all the elements of the CCR Advisor training and provide participants with the tools and resources to integrate the new learning into their own CCR advising experiences. In addition, it will introduce the different types of scholarships available and how to support students in applying for them to make post-secondary training more affordable. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a professional certificate from the University of Vermont and CFES Brilliant Pathways.
