SARANAC LAKE — High school students from across the region traveled to North Country Community College’s Saranac Lake campus on Tuesday to get a taste of what the college experience is all about.

Explore NCCC Day, organized by the college and CFES Brilliant Pathways, brought more than 150 students in grades 9 through 12 to the campus for a series of hands-on workshops and programs with college faculty and community members.

Students were provided a list of 12 different workshops to choose from, all of which are tied directly into programs offered at the college: Be a Forensic Investigator, Hunting for History, Massage Therapy: The Healing Side of Healthcare, Hand X-Ray, Bird Conservation in the Adirondacks/ADK Raptors, What’s Next? Life After High School, the 21st Century Business Professional, Crime Scene Investigation, Nursing Careers and Modern Simulation Technologies, Expressing Creativity Through Computer Graphics/Digital Arts, People Helping People, and Publishing, Playwriting, Poetry and Possibilities.School districts represented at Explore NCCC Day included Boquet Valley, Brushton-Moira, Moriah, Northeastern Clinton, Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, Ticonderoga, Tupper Lake and Willsboro.

The students also toured the campus and were provided with lunch by the North Country Community College Association.
